Here is one of our secret family recipes for the perfect Margarita for those hot summer evenings.  You’ll need…

  • 3 ounces of Tequila (preferable Patron or Don Julio)
  • 1/2 of a fresh tangerine, cut into quarters
  • 1/2 of a fresh lime, cut into quaters
  • 1/4 fresh jalapeño,  sliced (empty of seeds)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of agave nectar
  • Ice
  • Sea salt or corse salt (for the rim of the glass)

In a cocktail shaker, muddle tangerine, lime, jalapeño, and agave nectar. Add ice to the shaker. Pour the Tequila over the ice, cover the shaker with the lid and give it a really good shake.

Rub the rim of your glass with lime juice. Sprinkle a good amount of sea salt (or corse salt) onto a plate. Place the “limed” glass upside down on plate to salt the rim.

Pour all the contents from the shaker into your glass… and VIOLA… you have a delicious margarita! (If you don’t like the spice just leave out the jalapeño.)
